Blog #2: What I got from the lecture last meeting

CMS wasn’t really discussed last meeting. All I have in my notes is that Content Management Systems is usually a web service, and that it’s a repository of info.

I accessed the PDF file in our Google classroom group, and it says there that it’s a system that it helps non-technical users (does that mean noob? sorry for the term) to add, edit, and manage the content of a web site.

So, from what I understood, Wikipedia would be a good example of a CMS. Livejournal, ArchiveofOurOwn, and other sites where you can post fanfictions or stories are (maybe, probably, likely) also good examples. Don’t take my word for it, though, I’m not sure I completely understood the concept of CMS. Please comment if you can elaborate on this further and help me understand it. 🙂

Blog #2: What I got from the lecture last meeting

Blog #1: Memememe…again :D

Hiya! I’m Minette Dimasapit, nickname…nothing shorter than my name…though if I can pick one, I think it’d be Eni. I turned 18 last August 11. Fun fact: My brother’s 15 years older than I am, and my mom gave birth to me when she was 40. I’m from Alaminos, Laguna, though I linger (lurk, or whatever you wanna call it) at San Pablo more, since we originally lived there.

I’m the one with striped purple shirt. The other one’s my high school friend. And yes, I’m already a third-year college student even though I don’t look like one. People usually mistook me for a freshman haha

Darn, at least five?…okay, I’ll try. My realistic (maybe?) dreams right now would be to graduate on time, have a job right after and earn a few bucks, buy a PSP (’cause I don’t have one) and the Supernatural Funko Pop toys, and to have a 1967 Chevrolet Impala for a car. The Impala one may not be that realistic, though, seeing as they’re only in the US and there are only a few that hadn’t been bought by a fan of Supernatural.

As for the wildest ones, I’d say they would probably be:

to guest star in either Supernatural or Teen Wolf. A pipe dream, ’cause, one, I’m not an actor, and two, the shows will likely be finished by the time I get to go to the California or Vancouver.

meet Jensen Ackles (I literally dreamt myself meeting him in a coffee shop in Austin, TX), Misha Collins, Jared Padalecki, Tyler Hoechlin, and/or Dylan O’Brien (meeting any one of them would be totally fine). Like the first one, this is also a bit of a pipe dream because if the shows are finished, there would no more VanCons or Wolfsbanes or Jus in Bellos. And US is preeetty big country, and even if I know Jensen and Jared live in Austin, that’s still a big city and the chances of me meeting them is a million to one.

write a book that will one day be in New York Times Bestseller list. I can’t even finish a fanfiction, how would be able to write a decent book, much less a bestseller?

live in the Supernatural universe (I’ll surely be that victim killed by some supernatural creature in the first few minutes of an episode).  Yeah, that is just not possible as Supernatural is just a show created by Eric Kripke. Unlike Becky, I don’t hope it’s fictional…okay, maybe I do hope it is real…just a bit.

and time travel. Like the Doctor (the eleventh,’cause he’s funny). It would be fun to travel back in time and see history as it is being made, like the Victorian era…the dresses are cool…maybe I can meet Ciel, too. Hmmm…

Another unproductive sembreak

Like all the previous sembreaks I had, I did nothing but veg out on the bed, just watching movies and shows on my laptop, eat, take a bath…not in that order, and sometimes, when my mom drags me to the market in San Pablo or in SM because we need to pay bills or we’re out of snacks to eat. Or when my dad pesters me to get up early and take in vitamin D for a few minutes.

Of course, I actually went out during Christmas, dressed in a blue (as in blueee) blouse with sleeves, black pants and ankle boots. Before our family actually got out of the house, our neighbors and relatives living near us dropped in and got money from us…what I’m trying to say here is namasko sila…gosh, for one word, it is hard to translate. By 9 am, we went to the town church and gave thanks to the Lord for giving us His Son. After that, we went to my aunt and uncle’s house, where our family ( or at least on my mother’s side) gathers every year. And finally, after about 4 months, I got to see my favorite nephew! Say hi to Gabe!

He’s so cute when he’s not throwing basketballs in your face 🙂 I don’t know why, but even if he hasn’t seen me for months, he still remembers me. As in, when he saw me, his face lit up. Well, he does smile and show off his dancing and badass basketball skills to strangers (to him) who come by our aunt and uncle’s (I call them Mommy and Papa)house. But, it’s like he still knows me. And I feel content and happy about that, because I knows kids his age don’t remember people when they don’t see them for months.

After that, the day just got better. My uncle, whom I call Papa George (we pronounce it as “Hure”, for some unknown reason…maybe I should ask my mom), and his family actually arrive. I kinda gave up on the hopes of them showing up at our family reunions, since they didn’t go when Papa had his birthday at Chicken Savory in SM, or when it was my mom’s birthday, or pretty much all the times we called them and asked them to eat with us. Okay, I know, I know, I’m holding a bit of a grudge. But, it’s just…we only meet up few times a year, is that too much to ask?….ooookay, moving on.

It was such a shame we arrived after lunch, because I missed the chocolate ice cream. The only flavor left was ube, and I don’t like that flavor because it tastes artificial (Yuck!). You know what’s one of my favorite things when I go to Mommy and Papa’s house? The amount of pamasko I have. They live in a [sort of , I’m not really sure] exclusive subdivision, and the minimum amount of money they give there is 50 pesos. Though I don’t go out with the kids anymore to get  pamasko, I still got some from the neighbors that dropped by. And this year, I got about a thousand pesos, without actually going out. Score!

After Christmas, my sembreak was pretty much uneventful. Yes, even New Year. The only highlight of that mornight (haha) was the fountains and the food (carbonara, church gelatin, tikoy). The next interesting part of my sembreak was the enrolment day, or as we like to call it, the “Hunger Games”. It was the smoothest run of SystemOne I’ve ever experienced! Though I only got 12 units 😦 I hope I get more slots next semester, and that it will still be a smooth run. *crosses fingers*

Teen_Wolf_Season_3_Episode_21_Fox_and_Wolf_Stiles_WavesHi there! Minette here, or as I like to be called (but no one does :/), Eni. As in “any”.  How I got that self-imposed nickname is a puzzle (not really) for you to figure out.  From my homepage, I think it is quite obvious that I am a fan of Supernatural and Teen Wolf (Superwolf!).  I also watch Doctor Who and Sherlock, but I’ve only watched up to series 8 and series 2, respectively. I guess you can say I’m also a fan of Jensen Ackles and Dylan O’Brien, seeing as I’ve watched Dark Angel, The Internship, etc. just because they were there. I also read books, like Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder, and also dystopian and/or YA like Harry Potter (duh…who doesn’t?), Hunger Games, and Percy Jackson. Sometimes, my dad ropes my mom and I (by taking charge of the TV) into watching action movies with him. Well, I guess that’s all you need to know about me for now. See ya later 🙂
